I Put The Ible in Gullible
Wow, where do I begin? As I start writing my blogs, you are actually getting a glimpse of my brain cells popping. Let's start off with how I put the "ible" in gullible. My testimony alone will give you the areas of my life where I have been most gullible. The fact that I've been married to four different men and divorced five times is a huge red flag to my being such a gullible person. With my marriages, I believed in the promises that each of these men vowed or directly stated to me -- how they would love me forever and that no other person on this earth could love me as much as they do. Also, my kids know that they can always pull one over on me by telling me something is true and providing me with their made up facts to support it and then when they have buy in, they will say -- Mom, you believe anything. Well now. It's not something I'm proud of -- for the most part I have fantastic discernment. However, when I let my guard down, I can be very vulnerable and gullible.
I've been upfront with you, I am imperfect -- I have NEVER EVER claimed to be perfect -- far from it. I am not a theologian, but I research and study -- many topics along with scripture. But this Boomer has a concern and I wanted to blog about it today. So, my social media platforms are all full of this Rapture prediction that should be happening today or tomorrow. This isn't the first time a prediction of this caliber has been made. I'm still shocked that even though the scripture is clear that not even Jesus Christ himself knows the time, that some of us small minded, but deep thinking people actually think that we can override this fact. The bible also teaches that in the end times we will have prophets, but along with the ones He sends, there will also be false ones that go against what the Bible teaches and aren't in accordance to God. Can you guess who is sending those to confuse humanity?
As the result of this prediction to the Rapture happening in the next couple days, people are actually selling off their stuff and giving away their possessions. I saw one post that made me laugh out loud because one woman had asked an animal activist to take care of her dog while she ascended into the heavens to be with Jesus. The animal activist took offense to her request, because she had assumed that he wasn't worthy to be Raptured. So anyways, first of all, you are a person who is vulnerable -- God Bless You -- but you give your stuff away, clear out your bank accounts, quit your jobs, sell or move out of your homes in preparation of the Rapture? Why? If the Rapture happens, you can't take anything with you and most likely those around you who love Jesus will be Raptured too and why would you care what happens to your stuff? That would be the last thing on my mind. If I were to fall vulnerable to such a prediction, shouldn't I be prepared that if it didn't happen, I would have something to come back to? I can tell you, it is highly 100% likely, the Rapture will not be occurring in the next 48 hours.
I can understand the desperation of not wanting to die and take the Enoch way out. That is ideally what we all want, but unfortunately our mortality puts us into the 100% chance we will die ourselves off this rock. However, where our spirit goes after the blessed event is up to what choices we have made while on earth. My choice is Jesus Christ. As a 65 year old woman, I am very aware of the world we live in now and it makes me sad for my children, their children and so forth. It can sometimes become overwhelming to live each day when you put your hope in the world and not on God. However, many of those who believe in the Rapture, must have some understanding of scripture and that's why I don't understand why you just don't continue to live your life, one moment at a time, like we are told -- and just let prophecy unfold out of our control. We don't control anything -- you realize that right? We can be guided, but certainly we can't control. WE NEED TO STAY ALERT THOUGH!!! Keep looking up and don't despair. Put your hope in God through Jesus Christ.
Gen Z and forward (even those born before that), I know things are way tougher for you now and so confusing. Please don't lose hope and don't put your hope on other false predictor's ways out. If you are one of those who feel like you can't move forward after selling all your stuff and the Rapture didn't happen as you thought -- you can replace your stuff. Don't despair -- I know you probably have the whole body of Christ praying for you right now. Reach out to a church or your family if you need to get back on your feet. This may sound cliche, but it truly isn't the end of the world for you.
If you have been reading my blog, you have read about my dark valleys. It could have been easy for me to give up. I had some pretty low days where I found it hard to even get out of bed. I had a lot of encouragers and supporters in my life who brought me through. Most importantly, I relied on God through Jesus Christ through prayer, reading scripture and putting my priorities and control in His hands.
Matthew 24:36 -- “But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, but My Father only.
Psalm 33:20 -- We put our hope in the Lord ; he is our protector and our help.
